List of banned books

The “List of Harmful and Unwanted Writing” contains the authors compiled by the National Socialists between 1938 and 1941 and their works, which were banned in the Third Reich. This list was only passed on as a confidential document to the Reichsschrifttumskammer as well as to the boards of booksellers and libraries. Here, the Nazi ban list is made available online for the first time.

The list was drawn up using an OCR procedure. We do not guarantee any accuracy. In the context of scientific work, a review of the data we provide should always be carried out.

Meaning of the fields:

title = book title
