PGF–Wind Interaction Analysis (2025)

This technical note presents the analysis of directional coherence events (dcos) for the year 2025 across multiple global regions. Events are defined by large temporal changes in the alignment between observed wind vectors and estimated pressure-gradient force (PGF) directions. The study quantifies the conditional probability of events with respect to PGF magnitude and wind speed, and models their relationship using logistic regression, including nonlinear and interaction terms. Regional differences in PGF–wind interactions are highlighted, providing a dataset and figures for reproducible research.
