Arabidopsis EMS-induced mutants with parental VND7-VP16-GR induction line were screened, named seiv (suppressor of ectopic xylem vessel cell differentiation induced by VND7). Among them, Four dominant seiv mutants, namely seiv3, 4, 6, 9, are identified their responsible mutations as single missense substitution in protein ubiquitination-related genes, PUB46, UBP1, FBX, and PUB36, respectively. For these mutants, expression profiles are obtained for comparing between mock- and DEX-treatment which invokes VND7-VP16 transcription induction.
