Biological control of Magnaporthe oryzae using natively isolated Bacillus subtilis G5 from Oryza Officinalis roots

the antagonistic effective endophytic bacterium strain was isolated from the roots of Oryza Officinalis Wall. in Yunnan Province, China. The isolates displayed strong antagonistic effects against different physiological races of M. oryzae. Through molecular analysis, it was identified as the Bacillus subtilis G5 strain. Strain G5 had an obvious inhibitory effect on rice blast. On the one hand, it could cause mycelial deformity in co-culture, on the other hand, G5 was excellent in the control of rice blast in the greenhouse.
