Global dataset with mammal species diet specialization and distribution range

Global dataset with mammal species diet specialization and distribution range For each mammal species, are indicated the preferences of type of diet, body mass (g), distribution range (km2) and values of diet specialization index based on the Gini coefficient of inequality. The values of diet preferences for each mammal species, expressed as a percentage, were taken from Wilman et al. 2014. The level of diet specialization was calculated following the methodology described in Morelli et al. 2019, to estimate the degree of diet specialization of each mammal species using the Gini index of inequality.

本数据集为涵盖全球哺乳动物物种食性特化度与分布范围的数据集。针对各哺乳动物物种，本数据集记录了其食性类型偏好、体重（单位：克）、分布范围（单位：平方千米），以及基于不平等基尼系数（Gini coefficient of inequality）计算得到的食性特化指数数值。各哺乳动物物种以百分比形式呈现的食性偏好数据源自Wilman等人2014年的研究。食性特化程度的测算遵循Morelli等人2019年提出的方法，即通过不平等基尼系数估算各哺乳动物物种的食性特化程度。
