The world today is undergoing profound changes. The current study examined the impact of variability level on social justice perception. A survey was conducted among 648 participants to assess their perceived variability level, variability direction, uncertainty and social justice perception. The findings revealed that: (1)People generally experienced elevated levels of variability at present. (2)The variability level positively predicted social justice perception. (3)The variability level affected social justice perception through the chain mediating effect of variability direction and uncertainty. When the level of variability was high, people believed that the direction of the variability was more positive and the uncertainty was lower, accordingly their social justice perception became higher.
