Mapping of yellow vein mosaic disease resistance in bitter gourd

Bitter gourd is highly effected by a viral yellow mosaic disease transmitted by whitefly. Mapping of disease resistance will accelerate breeding for more resistant varieties in bitter gourd. For this objective, a F4 population, derived from a cross between Punjab-14 (susceptible parent) and PAUBG-6 (resistant parent) was genotyped by genotyping by sequencing approach and phenotypic data at F4:5 families was evaluated for the mapping of QTLs conferring resistance to yellow mosaic disease in bitter gourd.
