Gulf of Maine Picoplankton Metagenome. marine metagenome

Surface water was collected from the Gulf of Maine at 3 locations in the winter of 2006 and 3 separate locations during the summer of the same year. Samples were sequentially filtered 3.0 micron, 0.8 micron and 0.1 micron pore size membrane filters. Shotgun sequencing was performed on the genomic DNA isolated from the picoplankton collected on the 0.1 micron filter.
