CuTCNQ is an interesting, organic based magnetic material, with a transition to a ferromagnetic phase at around 10 K. The magnetism originates from a delocalised electron on each TCNQ anion, and there is the possibility that some complex behaviour could be explained by a shift in electron density across the TCNQ molecule that is coupled with the magnetic transition. This proposal uses MAPS to probe the quinoidal C-H stretches and any shift in electron density will manifest as shifts in the C-H stretch frequencies.
