Spatial Economic Models of Pollock and Cod 1991-2013 (B72)

The primary data utilized in the research are data from the North Pacific Observer Program and economic production and price information from the Alaska Fisheries Information Network (AKFIN). The observer data that were utilized in this project contain information on the hauls and sets for the fisheries. We also utilized production National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) Production data and price data from the Commercial Operators Annual Report (COAR), accessed through AFSC and AKFIN. For the vessel monitoring system (VMS) data, we utilize AFSC database which has links to the NMFS Enforcement database. These data were developed to examine the spatial behavior of these fisheries to determine how they respond to changing environmental conditions. Note: The confidential nature of these data prevent their open distribution, but researchers can contact NMFS to attempt to access the data.
