We have found that loss of SMNDC1 (Survival Motor Neuron Domain Containing 1), a component of the spliceosome complex, in both murine alpha cells and human islets is capable of inducing an overall increase in beta cell markers and activating insulin transcription. Overall design: ATAC-seqs in alphaTC1 cells (murine alpha cell line) 5 days after transduction with either an Smndc1 or Atrx-targeting shRNA.
