Beyond teaching and talent cultivation within mechanics majors, mechanics education also undertakes the task of providing public fundamental mechanics courses for diverse engineering disciplines characterized by extensive scope and varied demands. The newly established engineering majors related to artificial intelligence (AI) and digital virtual technology in recent years emphasize foundational reinforcement and interdisciplinary integration, presenting new requirements and challenges for fundamental mechanics course instruction. This paper elaborates on the demand background, curriculum structure, content selection, and practical instructional design for universal fundamental mechanics courses tailored to AI-related emerging engineering majors. The aim is to form a complementary wing resonating with the Mechanics “101 Plan", thereby making mechanical contributions to the development of new engineering disciplines.
