VPRS 9948 Disciplinary Appeal Files

This series contains file of disciplinary appeal against the decision of the Departments to impose a fine or any other penalty according to the provisions of the Public Service Act 1974 (No.8656).Under section 63 (4) of the Public Service Act 1974, the Board was required to constitute an Appeals Tribunal to hear and determine appeals against disciplinary charges by public servants.The files contain correspondence exchanged between the appellant, the Department and the Board and transcripts of proceedings before the Tribunal.This series commenced in 1976 when the Disciplinary Charges Files created under a single number system ceased. (For previous series, refer to VPRS 9713). This series ended in 1979 when these papers began to be filed on the PIN Files, (Personnel Identification Number ) of the public servants.
