The model-simulated atmospheric fields (including condensed water content, vertical velocity, and radar reflectivity factors, as described in section 3). The file name format is starttime_endtime_INCUS_Isabel.mat, with “starttime” and “endtime” as in the following example: 060200_060330_INCUS_Isabel.mat The files are all in .mat format. The Matlab code titled “Forward_sensitivity.m” will read the arrays containing the values of all the physical variables. The python script titled "wrapper_ff_neuralnet.py" is a python code that performs the detection of updrafts detailed in Section 4 using a binary classifer neural network.
