Transcriptome profiles of an oleaginous Desmodesmus mutant

A Desmodesmus sp. mutant G3 displayed a better biomass and lipid production performance over the wild-type strain under high light. This study aims to reveal the mechanism regulating the fast growth, high lipid production and tolerance to high light stress in the mutant, thus draft transcriptomic database of Desmodesmus sp. was constructed and analysis was performed to identify and quantify the differentially expressed genes between wild-type and the mutant strain.
