Multiple cropping area estimate by region and country.

This table summarizes published multiple cropping area estimates for selected countries and regions. Multiple cropping refers to any agricultural systems in which multiple crops are combined and includes certain types of agroforestry, cover cropping, crop rotations, double and triple cropping and intercropping. The area estimates in the literature are based on national survey statistics, expert opinions, suitability analysis, remote sensing, self-reported cropping practices and other methods. Area estimates are provided as physical area in hectares and million hectares, and as percentage of total cropland, crop area, arable land or agricultural land.
