Transcriptional analysis of human lung epithelial cells indicates a functional link of AhR to barrier protection/inflammatory mediator signaling upon allergen challenge. Overall design: Primary normal bronchial epithelial cells (NHBEs) were incubated eihter medium or AhR inhibitor CH223191 (1µM/mL) for 2 hours, afterwards with IL-4 (50ng/mL) and house dust mite extract (40µg/mL) for 6 hours.
