The goal of this study is to investigate and characterize a microorganism capable of degrading polyurethane (PUR), a persistent synthetic polymer widely used in industries but resistant to biodegradation. Identifying such a microorganism is crucial due to the environmental accumulation of PUR waste, which contributes to long-term pollution and ecological damage. By advancing knowledge in microbial degradation of synthetic polymers, the study aims to contribute to sustainable solutions for plastic pollution.
