Molecular investigation of an unexpected Helicobacter pylori bacteremia

The present study described the isolation of Helicobacter pylori from a blood sample of a 88-year old patient was no history of clinical sign evocating this infection. We summarize the clinical situation, the microbiological characterization of this case and how its was investigated further by modern next generation sequencing method especially a NGS sequencing using a target enrichment technique adapted to paraffin-embedded gastric biopsy.
