Surface Drifter Deployments in Kachemak Bay and Lynn Canal, Alaska, AK NSF EPSCoR Fire and Ice, 2020

This dataset contained drifter data collected in Kachemak Bay and Lynn Canal, Alaska as part of the AK EPSCoR Fire and Ice program. The data were collected from Microstar surface drifters, manufactured by Pacific Gyre, Inc., deployed in sets of 4 for deployments 1 through 10 in 2020. The device stayed in the upper 1 meter of water, reporting GPS position data at 10-minute intervals (programmable via web interface) from which was used to calculate the velocity of the water.
