Validation of spike gene target failure (SGTF) as proxy for Omicron (BA.1) infection. We compared results of our RUO RT-qPCR assay with sequencing results to show that SGTF is an adequate proxy for detection of Omicron (BA.1) in our study population. We sequenced a subset of samples collected from November 22nd to December 27th. Our N1 threshold was set at Ct ≤30.
