Dimethyl itaconate ameliorates goal-directed behavior in Toxoplasma gondii infected mice

Neurotrophic parasite Toxoplasma gondii (T. gondii) has been implicated as a risk factor for several neuropsychiatric diseases. However, there is only limited information in regard to its underlying mechanism and therapeutic strategy. The present study aims to investigate the effects of T. gondii infection on the prefrontal cortex, a critical brain area that controls goal-directed behavior.
