资源简介:
The new Wayfinding Signage System will direct citizens and visitors to key locations in the central city and area placemaking districts. The System is intended to create a navigational tool for visitors, as well as a framework to implement a functional and attractive signage system with consistent messaging and appearance. The System includes a family of signs that will address drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians. The system will be installed in phases. Phase I is complete and included pedestrian signs in the Downtown area, including signs located in Kleman Plaza and Cascades Park, and one vehicular sign located at Franklin Boulevard and Pensacola Street. Instillation of Phase II has begun with more pedestrian signs located in Downtown and along FAMU Way and one vehicular sign located on Monroe Street just north of Jefferson Street. Future phases will include Midtown and other placemaking areas, as well as, more vehicular signs Downtown. The Wayfinding Signage System was developed based on direction from the City Commission's Long Range Target Issues Committee and it is an "immediate priority initiative" identified by Live Work Learn Play's Reconnaissance and Strategic Assessment of Downtown Tallahassee. The System was approved by the City Commission on October 22, 2014 and it provides the framework to identify funding sources and implement the next phases of detailed design, fabrication, and installation of the various wayfinding system signs in designated areas of the City and County.
