Walleye (Sander vitreus) reference genome sequencing

Genome sequences were assembled separately for one adult male and female walleye (Sander vitreus) as a reference for population genomic studies and to evaluate the genetic determinants of sex in this important aquaculture species. Genome assembly was conducted using nanopore DNA sequencing (Oxford Nanopore Technologies) and Hi-C scaffolding. Phased and unphased genomes were produced for each individual and used to identify and evaluate candidate genetic sex differences in this species.
