This release contains data for 1.2 billion stars with V-band magnitudes ranging from 7 to 17, whose photometry has been calibrated across the B, V, u', g', r', i', and z' bands. APASS is designed to provide calibrated photometric services for any position in the sky and nearly all CCD imaging data. Similar to astrometric catalogs such as UCAC or Gaia, APASS enables photometric calibration of datasets without relying on full-sky photometric observations. With DR10, the sky coverage reaches approximately 99%. There still exist some missing regions, primarily in the northern sky with declinations above 20 degrees.
