Within the framework of this project we sequenced 2 dogs of extreme age (22 and 27 years). The primary aim of this project was to identify short genomic mutations (indels and SNP) that could potentially contribute to their extreme lifespan. This research complements the similar studies performed in humans and model organisms, further extending our knowledge on extreme longevity.
