Sequencing of the highly-duplicated and recent polyploid Brassica napus genome. Brassica napus genome sequence

The genome of Brassica napus is a relatively recent allopolyploid (<100,000 YA) and represents also the most highly-duplicated eudicot genome. By using adequate sequencing strategies, our study provides for the first time a high-quality draft sequence of this recent allopolyploid, where the constituting An and Cn genomes were successfully separately assembled and resolved.
