We established the co-culture model of iPS cell-derived crypt-villus structural small intestine and lactic acid bacteria (LABs). Using this model, the effect of TNF-α, IFN-γ and LABs (Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp. bulgaricus 2038 and Streptococcus thermophilus 1131) on the cells was evaluated. We examined 4 experimental groups: control, TNF-α + IFN-γ, TNF-α + IFN-γ + L. bulgaricus 2038 and TNF-α + IFN-γ + S. thermophilus 1131 group. In TNF-α + IFN-γ group, cytokines were added and the cells were incubated for 42 hours. In the lactic acid bacteria (LABs)-added group, after 24 hours of cytokine stimulation, LABs were added and the cells were incubated for 18 hours.
