Field measurements of DBH, height, and biomass for 14 urban tree species in Shihezi City, northwestern China

This dataset contains field-measured data on diameter at breast height (DBH), tree height, and total biomass for 14 common urban tree species sampled in Shihezi City, an arid region of northwestern China. The data were collected as part of a study assessing carbon storage and life-cycle carbon emissions during the maintenance stage of urban trees.The dataset supports the development and validation of species-specific allometric equations (biomass = a × (H × D²)^b) and contributes to estimating aboveground and belowground carbon storage. Each record includes the tree species, DBH (cm), height (m), and calculated biomass (kg C).These data underpin analyses presented in the manuscript “Carbon sequestration and maintenance-stage life-cycle carbon inventory of urban trees in arid cities.” They can be used for future urban forestry modeling, carbon accounting, and comparative studies of tree growth and management-related emissions.
