This experiment examined effects of reduced placental Regulator of G protein Signaling-2 (Rgs2) upon the placental transcriptome in C57BL/6J mice at gestational day 12.5. Overall design: A selective breeding strategy in which wildtype C57BL/6J dams were mated with Rgs2-deficient (Rgs20KO) sires or with wildtype male littermates of these Rgs2-KO sires. These matings resulted in pregnant wildtype C57BL/6J dams carrying feto-placental units that were either heterozygous for Rgs2 or wildtype, respectively. Total RNA from whole placenta at GD 12.5 was isolated, and transcriptomes were assessed by RNAsequencing.
