Oceanographic and multimedia data collected during the "Early Encounters on a Western Frontier: The search for Svyatoy Nikolai (1807-1808)" expedition in the North Pacific Ocean from 2023-08-11 to 2023-09-09

This dataset contains oceanographic images and videos collected by various iPhone and Android devices, a GoPro 10, Canon EOS 5D, and a Nikonos V camera; and videos collected by divers using a GoPro Hero 10 camera. The project resulted in the collection of baseline data to support monitoring and management of historic sites; developed and strengthened relationships among federal, state, and tribal heritage partners and other stakeholders; and enhanced our understanding about the first interactions between Indigenous communities and settlers in the Pacific Northwest.
