资源简介:
Background: Drug-resistant tuberculosis (DR-TB) is an ongoing challenge in the Torres Strait Islands (TSI) / Papua New Guinea (PNG) border region. Treatment success rates have historically been poor for patients diagnosed with DR-TB, leading to increased transmission. Further, delays between self-reported symptom onset and commencement of effective treatment contribute to ongoing tuberculosis (TB) transmission, is a particular concern in patients with drug-resistant (DR)-TB. This study identified variables associated with unfavourable outcome in patients diagnosed with DR-TB to inform programmatic improvements and assessed improvements in time to commencement of effective treatment in patients diagnosed with DR-TB in the Torres Strait–Papua New Guinea cross-border region. Study population: All residents of the Torres Strait Islands and Papua New Guinea nationals who presented to health facilities in the Torres Strait and were diagnosed with drug-resistant-TB between 2000 and 2020 This record consists of: 1 SPSS (.sav) file containing the spatiotemporal mapping of drug-resistant TB 1 SPSS (.sav) file containing data on the time to commencement of effective treatment in patients with drug-resistant tuberculosis 1 SPSS (.sav) file which contains a Multiple Imputation Dataset for Predictors of unfavourable outcome in patients diagnosed with drug-resistant tuberculosis 1 SPSS (.sav) file with the full dataset of the 133 patients 1 README (.txt) file which contains dataset definitions and variables Data files are also saved in csv. format Software/equipment used to store/analyse the data: SPSS and Microsoft Excel The full metholodgy is available in the Open Access publications in the Related publications link below. Once access to the data has been obtained via negotiation with the Data Manager, use of the dataset is governed by the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 licence. Note: The Data Manager may release age-related data in 5-year intervals to researchers, contingent upon consultation to establish research specifications and obtaining ethics approval.
