A dataset of the assessment on main functions of forest ecosystem services in China

Based on the data from the seventh (2004-2008), eighth (2009-2013), and ninth (2014-2018) National Forest Resource Inventories, and in accordance with the national standard "Specifications for Assessments of Forest Ecosystem Services" (GB/T 38582-2020), the main service functions of forest ecosystems in 31 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions in China (excluding Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan) were evaluated. These functions include water conservation, carbon fixation and oxygen release, atmospheric environment purification and biodiversity conservation. The evaluation results of the quantity and value of eight indicators in the four main functions were provided, and the data were organized and stored according to different functions.
