WAU020 - Wauyai Ma'ya - Miscellaneous basic vocabulary

This dataset contains miscellaneous elicited basic vocabulary from the Wauyai dialect of Ma'ya with Pilipus Gimla (born 1955), a native speaker of Wauyai Ma'ya. All words were recorded in isolation, utterance-final, and utterance-medial context. The session was recorded on 1 March 2023, in Waisai town (Waigeo island, Raja Ampat regency, Southwest Papua province, Indonesia). This dataset relates to the British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship 'Synchronic and diachronic investigations in Raja Ampat-South Halmahera, a little-known subbranch of Austronesian' (PF19@004); additional fieldwork funds were provided by a British Academy Small Grant (SG1920@342).
