Effects of the treatments by synthetic strigolactone (SL) and SL-enriched biostimulant on W/NUE under water and phosphate deprived conditions

The aim of this study is to investigate on the physiological and agronomic effects caused from the exogenous SL treatment on tomato plants (Solanum lycopersicum L) grown under water and phosphate stress conditions. The experimental proofs, began in 2018, were performed in greenhouses sited in Grugliasco at University of Turin, DISAFA (Italy). The analysis of the data obtained (only partially completed for the second experimental test) allowed to estimate the W/NUE of each treatment in the different water and nutrient conditions. These preliminary results seem to confirm an active role of the strigolactones as key signal mediator in response to the abiotic stresses. Analogously also the innovative biostimulant SL-enriched proposed by StrigoLab was shown similar positive activity by proposing itself as promising commercial product.
