The goal is to use 16S-ITS-23S long-read sequencing to profile the microbiome of raw retail poultry meat (bone-in chicken, chicken giblets, and ground turkey). The project also assesed how well this sequencing could be used as a diagnostic test for the presence of food-borne Salmonellae.
