This study aims to comprehensively analyze the genome-wide transcriptional dynamics in tomato (Solanum lycopersicum cv. Micro-Tom) leaves following feeding by the important greenhouse pest, Bradysia impatiens, using RNA-Seq technology. By comparing pest-infested and untreated control groups, we systematically identified differentially expressed genes and elucidated their involvement in key biological pathways, thereby revealing the induced defense mechanisms of tomato against chewing insects at the transcriptional level.
