This experiment is designed to investigate the angular dependence of X-ray Natural Circular Dichroism and X-ray Natural Linear Dichroism in single crystals with orthorhombic symmetry, with a specific focus on isolating and characterizing the electric dipole (E1.E1) and electric quadrupole (E2.E2) contributions to the X-ray absorption process with respect to the optically active (E1.E2) contribution. By taking advantage of the anisotropy of the crystal and the polarization control of synchrotron radiation, the experiment aims to provide a detailed understanding of how these the transition mechanisms contribute independently and jointly to the observed dichroic signals.
