Arabidopsis thaliana mutants with altered genes encoding core spliceosome proteins exhibit symptoms significantly enhanced by suboptimal temperatures. We postulate that temperature and other environmental conditions may have an impact on plant's splicing capacity. We access splicing capability in wild-type and other mutant genotypes at various temperatures using high-throughput strand-specific RNA sequencing.
