Urban waste water treatment

The service consists of 3 parts: — Treatment plants (pointual) — ATO boundary (polygonal) — Agglomerates (polygonal). The “treatment plants” report the location of the urban waste water treatment plants (purifiers, imhoff pits, etc....) existing and operating in the Lombardy Region.;Interrogating the theme is displayed:;the identifier of the ATO in which the plant falls,; code and name of the plant, code and name of the agglomeration served (where present), location coordinates of the plant, municipalities served, coordinates for the location of the discharge and the AE (equivalent inhabitants) processed. The data derive from the regional database SIRe Acque, fed by the management bodies of the ATOs (Optimal Territorial Areas).The “ATO borders” report the perimeter of the 12 ATOs (Optimal Territorial Areas) existing in the Lombardy Region. Querying this theme displays the name and identification code of the ATO. The Optimal Territorial Area is the territory on which the Integrated Water Service (SII) is organised. The ATOs have been identified on the basis of Lr 26 of 2003 "Discipline on services of general economic interest. Rules on waste management, energy, subsoil use and water resources”. The ‘Agglomerates’ refer to the areas of the Agglomerates identified by the managing bodies of the ATOs of Lombardy.;The agglomeration is defined as ‘area in which the population and/or economic activities are sufficiently concentrated so as to make possible the collection and conveying of urban waste water to an urban waste water treatment plant or to a final discharge point’ (ex Dir. 91/271/EEC of 21 May 1991 Article 2 of Legislative Decree No 152/2006, Art. 74).
