PROBLEMS ARISING FROM THE USE OF CERAMIC WASTE IN CONCRETE
收藏资源简介:
This article presents a Scopus- and Web of Science-oriented literature review of the main challenges associated with the use of ceramic waste in concrete, with particular emphasis on durability, workability, and performance variability. The aim of the study is to systematize the most frequently reported technical barriers and identify research gaps relevant to civil engineering materials. The methodology is based on a structured narrative review supported by a comparative synthesis of peer-reviewed studies investigating ceramic waste as a cement replacement, fine aggregate, and coarse aggregate. The novelty of the work lies in the consolidation of problem mechanisms throughout the entire processing chain, from waste sorting and comminution to mixture design and long-term performance, as well as in mapping these mechanisms to practical mitigation strategies. The study contributes an integrated problem framework that may be useful for researchers and practitioners involved in the development of sustainable concrete incorporating ceramic waste.
