A Metric-Based Evaluation and Methodological Comparison of Infographics in Cartography

This dataset contains the primary research data, input materials, and analytical outputs used to evaluate the degree of infographic style within cartographic products. It provides the comprehensive foundation for the methodological comparisons and analytical conclusions presented in the associated study. The dataset includes: Input Image Sample: The reference set of static visual materials, categorically divided into traditional maps, pure infographics, and transitional hybrid visualizations, including both native digital and scanned formats. User Testing Data: Raw and processed quantitative data derived from the questionnaire survey, capturing the cognitive perception and subjective evaluation of the visual samples. Case Study Results: The complete numerical and categorical outputs from the tested analytical methodologies, including Quantitative Content Analysis (QCA) coding protocols, Visual Summary affine diagram data, Machine Learning (Orange software) probability classification scores, and the mathematically calculated parameters for the Infographic Value (IGV) metric (IndicatorScore and LayoutScore).
