Theincreasingglobalizationofhealthcarehashighlightedtheimportanceofeffectivecommunicationskillsamongmedicalprofessionals.ForstudentsstudyingMedicalEnglishaspartofEnglishforSpecificPurposes(ESP),masteringreal-lifelanguageuseisessential.ThispaperexaminestheroleofauthenticmaterialsinimprovinglanguagecompetenceamongESLlearnersinmedicalcontexts.Authenticmaterials,includingclinicalcasereports,patientrecords,medicalarticles,anddoctor–patientinteractions,provideexposuretoreal-worldlanguageandprofessionaldiscourse.Thestudyadoptsadescriptivequalitativeapproachsupportedbyclassroom-basedobservationsandlearnerfeedback.Thefindingssuggestthatauthenticmaterialssignificantlyenhancevocabularyacquisition,communicativecompetence,andlearnermotivation.However,challengessuchaslinguisticcomplexityandcognitiveoverloadmustbeaddressedthroughcarefulscaffolding.ThestudyconcludesthatintegratingauthenticmaterialsintoMedicalEnglishinstructionbetterpreparesstudentsforrealclinicalenvironmentsandrecommendstheirsystematicinclusioninESPcurricula
