This dataset contains the artefacts used to support the experimental evaluation of the manuscript "A Distributed Complex Event Processing System for Scalable Efficient Event Detection in Intelligent Environments". The artefacts include sanitized Python scripts for event generation, latency measurement, resource monitoring, experiment orchestration, and result aggregation; Esper EPL pattern files and DCEP configuration templates; final CSV summaries; and the executable JAR used in the experiments. The provided measurements compare a centralized DCEP configuration, where the same event-processing patterns are executed on a single resource-constrained node, with a distributed DCEP configuration, where fog-layer patterns are split across heterogeneous nodes and cloud-layer processing is executed on a server. The controlled comparison reports input rate, high-level alert counts, latency statistics, output rate, and resource-utilization metrics over three repetitions for each load level. Hostnames and IP addresses have been replaced with placeholders. The generated events are synthetic smart-hospital sensor events and do not contain personal, patient, or real-world medical data.
