ATAC-seq data from larval and early postlarval stages of the demosponge Amphimedon queenslandica

This dataset contains ATAC-seq data generated from dissociated cells of biologically replicated individual larvae and postlarvae of the demosponge Amphimedon queenslandica. These12 ATAC-seq libraries reveal changes in chromatin accessibility at 4 time points through the development of larval competence, settlement and early metamorphosis (precompetent larvae to 6 hours post settlement). This dataset thus provides insights into animal gene regulation and enhances our understanding of the molecular mechanisms controlling a major life cycle transition in a basal animal. This resource will be beneficial for researchers interested in gene regulation, chromatin dynamics and life cycle evolution.
