Dataset supporting drivers red light violation in the Kumasi Metropolis, Ghana

The data were obtained through a nonintrusive roadside observational survey conducted in Kumasi, Ghana. The survey was designed to determine red-light running rate among the drivers in the city as well as their characteristics. The study was carried out within 2 weeks from 8 March through 17 March 2018. On each day, the survey was conducted at three different times: morning (6:30–8:30 am), afternoon (12:00–2:00 pm) and evening (4:00–6:00 pm). The survey was conducted at intersections controlled by traffic lights within the metropolis.
