In salt-making process, the microbial composition in a seawater reservoir (SR) of a solar saltern plays an important role in determining the quality of salt produced. Through metagenomic 16S rRNA gene sequencing, we compared the taxonomic profiles of microbiomes inhabiting the seawater reservoirs of two multi-pond solar salterns.
