Replication Code for: \"Embedded inequality: Personal network dynamics and mental health during COVID-19\"

This dataset contains the full replication package for our paper, “Embedded inequality: Personal network dynamics and mental health during COVID-19.” It is organized into a two-part pipeline. Part 1 (Cluster generation; R) cleans and preprocesses the CovNetps Wave 1–2 data and constructs the personal network typology, producing an ego-level dataset that includes each respondent’s network type. Part 2 (Regression analysis; Stata) takes the Part 1 output as input, runs the panel-data models, and generates all tables and figures reported in the paper. For step-by-step replication instructions (including software requirements, file paths, and run order), please refer to the two README files: README_Part1.md (Part 1) and README_Part2.md (Part 2). Package contents: * Code (4 files): R scripts for data cleaning and clustering (Part 1) plus a Stata do-file for regression analysis and output generation (Part 2). * Data (3 files): R-format CovNetps Wave 1–2 source files used as inputs for Part 1, plus Stata-format datasets used/produced for Part 2 analysis, and the oxford_social_distancing_data.dta that contains global pandemic-related policy measures used for regression analysis in part 2. * Documentation (3 files): the codebook for the CovNetps-Wuhan Wave 2 questionnaire, plus additional dataset-level documentation referenced in the CovNetps Dataverse.
