FDI and thenar muscles rate coding project

This study aimed to investigate motor unit discharge behaviour of intrinsic hand muscles, specifically the first dorsal interosseous (FDI) and thenar during isolated index finger flexion, isolated thumb flexion, and a synergistic pinch tasks with different force level contractions. Motor units were decomposed from high-density surface electromyograms using this algorithm and tracked across force levels. Mean motor unit discharge rate and recruitment thresholds were analysed during the recruitment, plateau, and de-recruitment phases to determine adaptations in neural control following increases in force demands in the FDI and thenar when acting either independently or synergistically.For further details, please refer to the <b>READ ME</b> file.
