Current and future topsoil organic carbon stocks in Northern Hemisphere permafrost regions

Soil organic carbon (SOC) density data are provided in gridded format, with filenames following the convention “NP-SOC-X.tif”, where <i>X</i> denotes the time period and emission scenario. For example, “NP-SOC-ssp126-2021-2040.tif” represents the spatial distribution of surface (0–30 cm) SOC in permafrost regions of the Northern Hemisphere for the period 2021–2040 under the SSP1-2.6 scenario. In addition, we compiled 2,347 soil profiles from the World Soil Information Service (WoSIS), each with geographic coordinates, and calculated SOC density within the 0–30 cm depth interval.
